Trees for Your School

New Request Pause

Thank you for your interest in greening Los Angeles! This year, City Plants received a record-high number of applications for free yard and street trees. In order to process and fulfill all pending requests, we are temporarily pausing new requests. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when we start accepting new requests for free trees. In the meantime, we encourage you to continue watering and caring for trees in your neighborhood. We thank you for your patience in advance!

Trees make students feel welcome and can even help them learn. If you are a principal or plant manager who wants trees, sign up and we will connect you to one of our non-profit partners to create a plan.

Due to funding restrictions, the number of open space trees we can plant is limited. We get more requests than we can deliver. Priority will go to schools that are in low canopy neighborhoods with strong administrative support and a tree maintenance plan. However, we are always looking for grant funds to plant in schools, so even if we are unable to plant now, we are happy to develop a relationship!
